… that today is Choreographers Day? George Balanchine, one of the world’s greatest choreographers, was born on January 9, 1904, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Regarded as the father of American ballet, he co-founded the New York City Ballet and remained its Artistic Director for more than 35 years. On this day, we recognize and honor all choreographers.~~~
